Change the Color of the LED Light for a BlackBerry

The LED light on a BlackBerry phone serves multiple functions. A flashing red light informs you of a new message, a flashing green light signals a low battery and a flashing blue light is a sign of a Bluetooth connection. The lights assigned to these functions cannot be changed. Users can, however, change and assign custom LED light colors to up to 10 contacts for phone calls, SMS messages and emails with the use of the "Who Is It LED Light Alert for Contacts" application (app).

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "BlackBerry App World" application on your BlackBerry device.

    • 2

Click on the "Search" icon. Enter "Who Is It LED Light Alert for Contacts."

    • 3

Download and install the application. Click "Run." A dialog box will pop up asking if you would like to grant permissions to the "Who Is It LED Light Alert for Contacts" application. You must click "Yes" or the application will not work.

    • 4

Click on one of the 10 colors. The Address Book will open on your BlackBerry device. Choose a contact to which you want to assign the color. Hit the "Back" button on your device and click "Save."

Tips & Warnings

  • There are a number of other applications that charge a fee if you don't mind paying for custom LED lighting.
