How to Change the Oxygen Sensor on a 1993 Lincoln Town Car

The oxygen sensors are located in the exhaust manifold. They monitor the oxygen content of the exhaust gas stream. The oxygen content reacts with the sensor to produce a voltage output. If you notice a decrease in gas mileage, a surging of the engine when the brake is applied, the car idles roughly or your check engine light is on, you may need to replace the oxygen sensor in your 1993 Lincoln Town Car.
