How to Get Roofing Tar Off of Skin

Remove roofing tar with a safe waterless cleaner.

Roofing tar is a black, sticky substance used to seal roofs and protect them from water, the sun's UV rays and the harsh elements. Designed to be durable and long lasting on the roof, tar is also difficult to remove from the skin. Roofing tar will not wash off the skin with soap and water alone. Use a waterless hand cleaner deemed safe for the skin to remove roofing tar. Rub the cleaner into the skin, wipe it off with clean cloths and wash the skin for best results.

Things You'll Need

• Waterless hand cleaner
• Clean cloths

Instructions

1. Put some waterless hand cleaner into the palm of your hand.

2. Rub the waterless hand cleaner into the skin to loosen the tar.

3. Wipe the hand cleaner off of the skin with a clean cloth.

4. Wash the skin with soap and water. Rinse with clean water.
