How to Fix Vista Malware
Malware, or malicious software, refers to computer programs designed to run in your computer without your knowledge or consent with the intent of damaging or disrupting your computer system or secretly acquiring information. Malicious programs includes spyware, adware, tracking cookies, keyloggers, Trojan horses, worms and viruses. Malware can infect computers with any type of operating system, including Windows Vista. Learning how to protect a computer system against malware and how to fix an infected one is a must for every computer user.

Open your favorite browser and visit websites that allow you to download free or paid versions of anti-malware software. Websites such as Malwarebytes, Comodo and Security 360 (see Resources) are examples of websites that offer this type of service.

Open the website and view its interface. Read the information to know more about the features of the anti-malware program. Click on the "Download" button to initiate the download process and follow onscreen prompts until you install the software. Restart your computer after completing the installation process.

Click on the anti-malware icon on your desktop to open the program. Or, click on "Start" on your desktop, click on "All Programs" in the pop-up menu and click on the anti-malware program name. View the program interface and click on "Help" to open the help files and view the instructions on how to effectively maximize the utility of your new anti-malware software.

View the program interface and click on "Scan" to start an immediate scan of your computer system and detect any malware infection. Most anti-malware programs will automatically quarantine or delete the malware program and fix your computer. Wait for the scan to finish and view the resulting window displaying a summary of the scan, including the name of any malware found in the computer system.
