How to Connect TV to DVD Surround Sound System
You are able to now purchase HTIBs, which is short for "Home Theater in a Box." With these devices, a DVD player is built into a surround sound receiver. This prevents you from purchasing two different devices at the same time. However, the DVD player/surround sound receiver also has several audio input options, which allows you to connect a television system directly to the DVD's surround sound receiver.
Instructions
-
-
1
Plug the digital optical audio cable into the "Digital Out" audio port on the rear of your television.
-
2
Attach the opposite end of the cable into the "Digital In" port on the back of the DVD surround sound receiver.
-
-
3
Power on both the television and the HTIB system.
-
4
Press the "Digital In" option on the surround sound receiver and the audio from the TV begins to play over the DVD player's speaker system.
