How to Change the Color of a Coin

Changing the color of a coin is a magician's trick. The magician shows the audience a coin, usually a Chinese coin designed specifically for the trick, and after covering the coin for an instant, it turns red. Another moment covering the coin and it turns blue. The trick to changing the color of the coin is simple, and the audience can test the coin to see that it is not switched with another coin.

Instructions

1. Show the audience the coin. It starts off black. The three colors are easily seen so that an audience watching the trick will notice the color change.

2. Hide the coin for a moment either behind a large card or in a hand. Rub the coin. After a few rubs, the coin turns red. Show the red coin to the audience.

3. Hide the coin a second time and rub it again. The coin turns blue after the original change to red. Show the audience the blue coin.
