How to Disable Your Answering Service on Your AT&T Home Phone

AT&T offers CallNotes voice mail services to customers for an additional monthly fee. The voice mail box allows callers to leave a message when you are unable to answer your home phone. CallNotes does not have the ability to be disabled for any length of time. Once this feature is added to your home phone it remains your voice mail service until canceled through customer service. If the service is canceled it can be reinstated by the account holder at any time.

Instructions

1. Contact AT&T customer service from any phone.

2. Provide the customer service representative with the account holder's access code, or give them the last four digits of the account holder's Social Security number for verification purposes.

3. Request that the CallNotes service on the landline phone be canceled. The updates may take up to four hours to complete. You will receive a confirmation number from the customers service representative.
