How to Use Automatic Lock Picks
Automatic lock picks, also called lock pick guns, work by applying a large amount of force to a lock's pins. This force, combined with the turning motion provided by a tension tool, opens the lock. If done correctly, you can open the lock quicker than if you use a standard, manual lockpick. Learning to use a lock pick gun properly, however, takes a bit of practice. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
-
1
Insert the tension tool into the lock's keyhole. Do not turn the tool or provide pressure yet.
-
2
Slide the needle end of the lock pick gun into the top of the keyhole. When you have fully inserted it, pull the trigger to apply force to the lock pins.
-
-
3
Turn the tension tool slightly to the left or right about one second after you pull the pick gun's trigger. Turn the tool gently, applying a light pressure as it turns.
-
4
Pull the pick gun's trigger and apply tension again, if the lock does not open the first time. With the proper amount of tension, the lock releases.

Tips & Warnings
Proper timing is the key to using a lock pick gun successfully. Do not turn the tension tool too early or too late.
Lock pick guns use a lot of force when opening a lock. This force can cause damage to the lock, especially if you use the pick incorrectly.
Only use a pick gun on your own locks.
