How to Repair a Leaking RV Window in a Keystone Everest
Leaking windows will cause the early demise of a Keystone Everest RV. The manufacturer recommends inspecting windows and seals for leaks every month as part of the RV's maintenance routine. Although the owner's manual states that any leak should be taken to an authorized service center for repair, a minor leak can be repaired by the RV's owner. If water damage to the RV structure has occurred, then the RV should be repaired by a certified RV technician.

1
Vacuum the tracks and edges of the window to remove any debris. Check that the weep holes are clear and remove any dirt that is blocking them. Use a wooden toothpick to carefully remove dirt that is compacted into the weep holes.

2
Examine the edges of the windows to determine the condition of the window sealant. Over time, the sealant will deteriorate. Gently pull off or use a putty knife to remove the old sealant.

3
Clean the area around the window to remove any dirt that will interfere with the application of new sealant.

4
Place a container of clear silicone sealant into a caulk gun. Run a smooth bead of caulk around the area where the window meets the frame of the RV. Smooth the caulk with your finger and wipe away any excess with a damp rag. Allow the caulk to dry.

Tips & Warnings
Wearing disposable gloves, when applying silicone sealant, will prevent the silicone from coming in contact with your hands. Silicone sealant that matches the color of the RV can be used instead of clear silicone.
Soft or spongy areas around the RV's window frame indicate potential damage to the RV structure. Do not use the RV until the damage is repaired.
