How to Mix Plaster for Walls
Mixing plaster is a relatively simple task. If you choose to plaster your walls yourself, you will find that plasters mix come with additives like perlite and vermiculite, which enhance the wall's insulation and provide greater fire resistance. Clean out the bucket with water and soap. Begin this project with a clean bucket or the plaster will end up with unwanted impurities in it and may lead to discoloration.

Pour cold clean water into the bucket. Add the water before the plaster so that it does not clump or form an unmixable mess. Use the amount of water to mix ratio suggested by the manufacturer.

Pour the plaster mix slowly into the water. Attach the stirring paddle to the drill once it is in the water. Insert the stirring paddle into the plaster and water mixture.

Turn the drill on a low speed and begin stirring the mixture. Raise the speed gradually and keep stirring until all the plaster is mixed with the water and you have a smooth, evenly consistent paste.

Only mix enough plaster to use at the time that you will use it.
Never leave mixed plaster where children can get it.
