How to Upgrade AT&T DSL Service
AT&T's DSL (digital subscriber line) Internet connection is a very popular choice for individuals that want high speed Internet (also known as broadband Internet). This is especially true if someone has an existing phone line (land line) connection and would like to add high speed Internet to their service. However, there may come a time when a user's high speed Internet service is not meeting their demands and/or may not be fast enough for them; therefore, to gain a faster connection, the user will have to upgrade their DSL service.

Open your browser and go to the DSL section of the AT&T website (see Resources for link). Select "Start Upgrade" under the "Upgrade Your Existing AT&T DSL Service" heading.

Type your 10-digit home phone number when prompted (if you do not have home phone service, you will need to contact AT&T by phone at 1-800-288-2020 to upgrade your DSL service). Select "Check Availability" to see which plans are available in your area. Once you are given the upgrade options available in your area, select a package that is faster than your current DSL speed.

Agree to the terms and conditions by clicking the check box at the bottom of the form. If you are prompted to enter the last four digits of the Social Security number as it reads on the account, do so at this time. Select the "Submit" button to finalize your upgrade; your AT&T DSL service will now be upgraded to another plan.
