How to Block an Unknown Number From Your Alltel Wireless Phone

Call customer service to block unknown numbers on your Alltel Wireless phone.

Unknown numbers can be frustrating because the callers are not identified on your cell phone's display. These numbers might show up as blocked numbers, or simply be listed as "Unknown." Many unknown calls come from sales representatives. If you see an unknown number on your Alltel Wireless phone, you can block future calls from the number.

Instructions

1. Write down the number if it is listed. Many numbers are labeled "Unknown" because there is not a name attached to it, though the number is still listed on your Alltel Wireless phone.

2. Call Alltel's customer service number at 1-800-255-8351. Request to speak to a manager. Customer service representatives usually will not have the authority to block the phone number.

3. Ask Alltel to block the phone number. Give the reason, such as if the number turns out to be a sales call. Blocking the number will differ for each specific phone, though the manager should be able to point you in the right direction.
