Preparing the Scroll
-
1
Format the scroll stationery by inserting a text box on the printable scroll paper area. Though word programs vary, navigate to the Insert< Text Box selection with your cursor. Position the cursor on the screen paper area and drag the mouse to your desired size.
-
2
Choose the font type and size from your computer word program. For example, choose fonts such as "Lucida Handwriting" or "Edwardian Script" for monogram letter type. Another option is to incorporate calligraphy letter type like "Lucida Calligraphy."
-
-
3
Choose a second font type to set as an overlay on the monogram letter type by opening Layout < Behind Text. You can select an elegant stylized font like "Georgia" or "Baskerville."
-
4
Choose a light shade from the program's color palette for the monogram letter type, and choose a deeper shade for the overlay letter type. To make the monogram the focal point of the scroll, enlarge or reduce the letter by changing the letter point size. For example, if the monogram point size is 24, enlarge it and change it to 72.
-
5
Save the design in a separate computer file. Set the printer on a high or fine resolution. Though the printing takes longer to process, the high resolution ensures the type does not have breaks and appears richer on the scroll page.
Scrolling the Stationery
-
6
Hold the scroll paper at each end. Slightly curl one end and roll it away from you. Make sure the paper does not crinkle. The stationery will begin to appear scroll-like.
-
7
Continue to roll the stationery until it is completely scrolled. If the sides become uneven, lightly tap the sides of the loosely rolled scroll.
-
8
Tie a piece of decorative ribbon around the scroll to hold it in place. Another option is to print customized envelope seals or use decorative scroll rings to keep the rolled scroll from unravelling.
