How to Allow SSL Offloading

According to Window Security, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) refers to a method used to encrypt data transferred over the Internet. It is used to provide safe transmission of credit card and other sensitive information over the Internet. The method utilizes symmetric encryption to provide confidential information with the strength of the encryptions being promoted by use of longer keys such as DES, 3DES, RCR and RC4. These keys may vary in lengths of up to 168 bits. SSL offloading involves transferring of SSL processing from a CPU server to a card processor. This takes off SSL processing load from a web server.
