If you have the PC version of Rockstar's "GTA Vice City," you also have the ability to download and insert custom modifications into the game, customizing the game to your preferences. Custom mods allow you to control nearly every aspect of the game -- from money, weapons and even custom vehicles, such as airplanes. Inserting a custom airplane mod into your Vice City game only requires a few steps before being able to use it in-game.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your computer's Internet browser and visit a secure website that offers Airplane Mods for "GTA Vice City" (see Resources).

    • 2

Download the "DMagic Wheel Mod" (see Resources) and install it by double-clicking on it before installing any other VCM mods, as other vehicle mods will not work without the DMagic Wheel Mod.

    • 3

Download the VCM Manager (see Resources) and install the manager by double-clicking the file once the download is complete. Once it is installed, click "Start" > "All Programs" and locate the VCM Manager to open and run the application. The program will prompt you to enter a destination where your default Vice City folder is. The default destination is "C: Program Files > Rockstar Games > Grand Theft Auto: Vice City."

    • 4

Download the airplane mod that you want to install into GTA Vice City using one of the popular GTA mod websites (see Resources). Extract the mod to "C: Program Files > VCMM > Mods > vcm", which is the default path to your VCM Mod Manager.

    • 5

Open the VCM manager to view the mods that are available for installation. Your newly downloaded mod will be in the list of available mods in the VCM manager. Highlight the new mod with your mouse and select "Install" to activate the new airplane mod in "GTA: Vice City." Run the program to see the new airplane mod activated within the game.
