1
Find a location for your solar lights that get several hours of direct sunlight each day. This ensures optimal charging and longer lasting light in dark periods.
-
2
Use nails to attach solar light strings to a fence or wall. Strands of solar lights have multiple cords loosely twisted together and covered in waterproof coating. Hammer the nails into place and push the cords over the nails by creating a gap in the twist.

Hang solar lanterns from walls, fences or decks by mounting a wall hook. Screw the hook to the wall and place the lantern's handle over the hook.
-
4
Use shepherd's hooks to hang the solar landscape lights. Press the shepherd's hooks into the ground at the desired location and hang a solar lantern from each one. Place a series of shepherd's hooks in an area and string solar light strands between them.
