Chlorine injectors, also known as chlorine feeders or chlorinators, sanitize swimming pool water using the chemical chlorine. Chlorine introduced into the pool eliminates bacteria, body oils and other contaminants. A chlorine injector pulls water through its body, which is full of chlorine. The water absorbs the chlorine chemical and returns to the pool. Troubleshooting a chlorine injector involves cleaning the filter screen to allow proper water flow and removing any air from the system to prevent vapor lock. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Shut off water flow to the injector. Simply turn off the pool system, including the filter and pump. Unscrew the injector's lid and remove.

    • 2

Remove the small plastic "filter" screen from the bottom of the injector's interior. Spray water over the screen to rinse away any buildup that may hamper water flow. Place the cleaned screen back into the injector.

    • 3

Screw the injector lid loosely onto the injector body. Turn on all pool equipment, including the pump and filter. Wait while water fills the injector body. Screw the lid firmly into place, once the injector leaks water from under the lid. This process forces air and vapors out of the injector lines, preventing vapor locks.
