How to Change to a Multi-Tap on a BlackBerry

Change the text input method on a BlackBerry from SureType to multi-tap if you would prefer to type words as if you were using a standard cell phone. The input method can be changed before or after you start typing a text message or email on the phone. On touch-screen models the landscape view keyboard can be set to SureType, while the portrait view keyboard can be set to multi-tap to allow the use of both types of keyboards.

Instructions

1. Click the "Menu" button from the home screen.

2. Highlight and click "Language."

3. Change the "Input Language" field to "Multi-tap."

4. Click the "Menu" button.

5. Highlight and click "Save."
