Instructions

    • 1

Sand the furniture with 120-grit sandpaper and a sanding block. Avoid over sanding the piece.

    • 2

Remove the dust from the wood with a damp cloth. Let the wood dry completely.

    • 3

Apply painting primer to the furniture with a paintbrush. Let the primer dry for two to four hours.

    • 4

Apply the base coat of paint to the furniture with a paintbrush. This base coat should be either white or dark in color so that it contrasts with the top coat of paint. Allow the base coat to dry completely.

    • 5

Spread the crackle glaze on the furniture with a paintbrush. Consult the manufacturer's directions for drying times.

    • 6

Apply the main coat of paint on top of the base coat with a paintbrush. Let the paint dry for two to four hours. The paint should look as if it is "cracked" or peeling. This reveals the paint color underneath.
