How to Edit Themes in Carbide
Most of the new Nokia cell phone models support graphical interfaces, which are otherwise known as themes. Themes can be changed periodically to modify the entire graphical look of your phone including wallpapers, menus, background images, icons and buttons. If you've downloaded a theme but want to edit it to remove or add something, you can use Nokia's theme editor, Carbide.

1
Download "Carbide" from Nokia's website (see Resources). The setup file should be downloaded in eight minutes or less, depending on the speed of your connection. Double-click the installer after it finishes downloading, and follow the installation wizard's instructions to install the application on your computer. The installation usually downloads in less than three minutes.

2
Go to "Start," and then click on "Programs" followed by "Carbide." Wait a few seconds for the application to launch.

Click the "Choose File" button on the Carbide application next to "Active Background." When a pop-up box opens, browse and select a particular image that has already been saved on your computer. Click "Open."

Select an icon package from the available options on the application. Icons of different styles and colors are available and compiled into "packages" according to their designs. These icon packages are shown on the template in the left panel of the application. Choose the icon package that goes with your theme.

Click on "File" in the top menu, and then click the "Save" button when you've edited the theme. Click the "Save" button on the pop-up window to save it to the desktop.
