How to Turn on the Amp in a Denon Receiver
Denon receivers come with an internal amplifier that push power to the speakers, making the processed sound audible. Although the amplifier receives power once the device is turned on, you must still activate the signal going to the speakers that are connected. Doing this takes under two minutes.

1
Hook up the speakers to the receiver before you do anything else. Connect the speakers with the speaker wire. The black (or negative) wire goes into the speaker jack marked "-", and the red (or positive) wire goes into speaker jack marked "+". Plug the other ends of each wire into the "Speaker Output A" jacks on the back of the receiver. If hooking up a second set of speakers, connect the wires to the speakers, then to the "Speaker Output B" jacks.
