How Do I Reprogram a Prestige APS 875 Alarm Remote?

The Prestige series of auto security and remote start systems is manufactured by Audiovox, parent company of consumer product brands Jensen and RCA. Prestige remote alarm and starter systems feature a "valet" mode that can be activated by depressing a switch located in the vehicle. The valet mode can be used to disable the alarm and start the vehicle if the transmitter is lost by using an override code. The override code comes preprogrammed from the factory at "11," but you can reprogram it to a personal two-digit code.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "unlock" button, located in the top left corner of the remote, to disarm the alarm. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "on" position.

    • 2

Depress the valet switch three times within 10 seconds of turning on the ignition. The valet switch is typically mounted in the dash of the vehicle. If the valet switch is not mounted in the dash, contact the installer of the system for the location of the valet switch.

    • 3

Turn the key to shut the ignition off and back on three times within 10 seconds.

    • 4

Press the pushbutton switch the number of times corresponding to the first digit of the chosen override code, between one and nine times, within 10 seconds of completing the ignition off-on cycles. Turn the ignition off and back on to complete the programming of the first digit.

    • 5

Repeat the programming using the pushbutton switch to indicate the second digit in the chosen override code, depressing the button between one and nine times. Turn the ignition off to complete programming. The LED will flash to indicate successful reprogramming.
