How to Remove Pine Sap From Toyota Car Paint Safely
Parking your Toyota under a pine tree may lead to a sticky mass of pine sap being left on your vehicle. While sap is somewhat challenging to remove from your Toyota's paint, as it has likely bonded to the paint, notes the Toyota car car tips website, there are several removal methods that should be successful in safely removing the sap from your vehicle.

1
Wash your Toyota car. Rinse your car with water and soap to remove any small sections of sap and to help loosen larger sap areas. Use gentle pressure to avoid scratching the paint in the area of the sap.
-
2
Place a solvent on the area to break apart the sap. Select a solvent such as rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits, fingernail polish remover or WD-40. Apply the solvent to the affected area with a clean rag and gently rub the sap off. You may need to repeat this step several times to remove all of the sap from your Toyota, especially if you have a large area of sap or it has been on your car for an extended period of time.

3
Use Toyota's specific bug and tar remover. If other solvents prove ineffective at removing the sap, Toyota offers its own brand of solvent, available at Toyota dealerships, specifically designed to be safe for all Toyota vehicles.

4
Rewash your car. After you have removed the sap, wash your car to remove the solvent from your Toyota's paint. When washing your vehicle, use extra care to ensure the area is free of both pine sap and solvent.
-
5
Wax the treated area. Once all the sap has been removed and your car has been cleaned, wax your Toyota to prevent any paint damage from the solvent and to restore and maintain your car's appearance.
