How to Use an Electric Rice Cooker

Rice is a staple in many diets across the globe. Cooking rice is fast and easy in an electric rice cooker. These electric rice cookers use steam to cook rice. The cooker can be programmed to make rice that's ready when the rest of a meal is served. The electric rice cookers usually make a beeping noise when the rice is finished. All that's needed besides the rice and the cooker is water.

Things You'll Need

• Rice
• Water
• Rice cooker
• Measuring cup.

Instructions

1. Add one-half cup of rice per serving to the rice cooker.

2. Measure 1 1/2 cups of water per serving. Pour over the rice.

3. Put the lid on the rice cooker.

4. Press "Cook" on the rice cooker, after making sure the cooker is plugged into an outlet.

5. Let the rice cook before removing the lid or serving. The rice cooker will cook based on how much rice and water are in the cooker. When the cooking cycle is over, the rice cooker will switch to warming mode automatically for 24 hours. Serve the rice anytime after the cook cycle is over and before 24 hours pass.

Tips & Warnings

• The cooker will be hot. Do not touch while in cook or warm mode.
