How to Create a WoW Installer

Running into World of Warcraft installation problems is frustrating, particularly if you are trying to meet your fellow guild members for a raid. Damaged CDs are a common cause of troubles with installation. Luckily, there is a way to create a manual installation folder on your hard drive that will allow you to install the game without running the CDs. You will still need the product key included with the CDs for the game to install properly.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the first WoW installation CD into your CD/DVD drive. Do not run the CD. If the CD opens automatically, close the installation window that appears.

    • 2

Open your Start menu. Open "Computer." Right-click on the CD drive that contains the WoW installation CD. Click "Open" to view the files on the CD.

    • 3

Right-click on your desktop. Mouse over "New" and select "Folder." You can name this folder any name you choose.

    • 4

Select all of the files within the WoW installation CD. Press and hold "Ctrl" and then press "C" to copy the files.

    • 5

Open the new folder on your desktop. Click within the folder and then press and hold "Ctrl" and then press "V" to paste the files into the folder.

    • 6

Remove the first CD from the CD drive. Insert the second installation CD. Repeat steps 1 and 2. Copy only the "Tome" file. Paste it into the desktop folder. Repeat this step for all three remaining installation CDs.

    • 7

Launch the installer file within the desktop folder. This will launch the installation wizard.
