      Place the Weed Eater Twist and Edge trimmer on a sturdy work surface. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug to prevent the trimmer from accidentally being started.

      Grasp the large tap button on the bottom the the line spool. Pull on the tap button and remove the line spool by pulling straight out from the trimmer head.

      Discard the old or worn spool and obtain a suitable replacement for the specific Weed Eater Twist and Edge model trimmer.

      Cut a 20 foot length of .080 diameter trimmer line from a filler spool. Insert one end of the trimmer line into the small hole on the side of the line spool.

      Wind the line securely around the spool in the direction as indicated by the arrow on the spool itself. Stop winding when there is 6 to 8 inches of line extending from the spool. Secure the free end of the line in the line notch on the side of the spool.

      Position the spool in front of the trimmer head with the tap button facing out. Insert the end of the trimmer line into the line feed hole in the side of the trimmer head. Push the spool into place in the trimmer head and pull the line to disengage it from the notch on the side of the spool.
