Perform Voodoo

Native to Haiti, Voodoo is an amalgam of African beliefs and Catholicism. According to the Voodoo Spiritual Temple website, it stems from "Voudon," a word used by the Fon people of West Africa to describe the invisible power or creative spirit. While Voodoo recognizes only one deity known as Gran Met or Bondye, there are many spirits (loa) that intermediate between people and the divine. To communicate with these spirits to find answers to your questions, you can train your subconscious to connect to the world in which these spirits live.

Instructions

  1. Opening Ritual

    • 1

Figure out what spirit you want to summon to answer your question or fulfill your request. Among the benevolent loa or spirits, are Loko, Ayizan, Wedo, Freda, Legba and Agwe. These spirits are linked with the color white. If you want to connect with a warlike spirit, you can choose among Marinette, Ogoun, Kalfu and Ezili Dantor. These spirits are associated with the color red.

    • 2

Place your altar in a quiet private place where you can concentrate. Put on a robe. Light the candle and incense.

    • 3

Ring a bell. Say, "This temple is now open." Then state the opening prayer, "Before me is Raphael, behind me is Gabriel, on my right side is Michael and on my left side is Auriel. For around me shines the pentagram and within me shines the six-rayed star."

    Contact with Spirit

    • 4

Close your eyes and create a picture in your mind of your request. Say "I summon and evoke thee (name the spirit you have chosen to summon) to visibly appear before me and answer my request or (verbalize the actual request)." Repeat two times.

    • 5

Go into a silent meditative trance. Count from one to 30.

    • 6

To contact the spirit, ask a question. Then turn on the recorder. Tune into your senses. Say what you hear, see and feel. Utter your thoughts. What is being channeled through you is your answer from the spirit.

    • 7

Close your eyes. Create a picture in your mind of the request being granted.

    • 8

Give yourself the license to depart from the spirit world. Say "I thank thee (name your spirit); this ritual is now done. All forces, entities and energies shall go about their business until again I call. In the Ultimate Name, go in peace to do my bidding. Harm nobody and none and nothing that I have, that I like and love. So mote it be."

Ring bell. Say, "This temple is now closed."

Tips & Warnings

  • For the next few days following this ritual, pay close attention to dreams, thoughts, ideas and any external stimuli. You may become aware of the spirit's messages or signs regarding your request.
