Instructions

    • 1

Pick a desirable location for the TV. Find a stud in the wall with a stud finder. Most stud finders simply require you to press a button, slide one end against the wall wait for the device to beep as it goes over a stud.

    • 2

Mark the stud location with a pencil. Hold a level against the wall and make sure it's perfectly vertical. Draw a 12-inch vertical line over the stud location to act as a guide for the TV bracket.

    • 3

Hold the TV bracket against the wall. The vertical line that represents the stud location should be visible in the holes of the bracket. Make a pencil mark in the center of each bracket hole.

    • 4

Drill a hole on each pencil mark. The holes should be slightly smaller than the lag screws that come with the mounting kit. For example, if the lag screws are 1/2-inch thick, then you should drill 3/8-inch thick holes for them. The holes should also be about the same length as the screws.

    • 5

Hold the bracket against the wall and line up the holes. Put a lag screw in the top hole and tighten in with a socket wrench until you can no longer tighten it. Secure each additional lag screw in place.

    • 6

Hold the level against the bracket to ensure it's vertical. If necessary, make adjustments to the bracket. Most models allow a little wiggle room to adjust such mistakes without the need to drill new holes in the wall. Simply loose the top screw and swivel the bracket to either side until it's level, then tighten the screw again.

    • 7

Install the second bracket on the back of the TV set. The installation differs depending on the TV, so read the User Guide if you are unsure. Once installed, you can lift the TV and slide the TV bracket onto the wall bracket.
