1
Determine the path of the misting system. The system will run water through pipes, and out nozzles installed at regular intervals on these pipes. The pipes will need to be attached to something above your head. The gutters on a porch, or a fence railing will suffice. Determining the path before shopping will better prepare you with amount of angles and pipes needed. PVC pipe does not bend easily so each turn will need a new elbow fitting.

2
Install the PVC pipe starting at the water spigot and ending at the starting point of the misting system. Attach the PVC pipe to the house using clamps every three feet. The clamps nail to the wall, and the PVC slides inside. Attach elbows fittings as needed. Apply primer and glue to each fitting and pipe. Hold the fittings together after applying the glue for 30 seconds to allow the glue to bond to the PVC. Cut each pipe with a PVC pipe cutter instead of a hack saw or hand saw. This will prevent debris from clogging the system.

3
Attach a hose thread adapter to the end of the PVC pipe located at the water spigot. Ensure that you apply primer and glue to both fittings before connecting them.
-
4
Cut PVC pipe into 24-inch pieces. These will be installed between each misting nozzle.
-
5
Attach a tee fitting to the end of the PVC pipe. This is the pipe that was installed in Step 2, and the location of the first misting nozzle.
-
6
Attach a 24-inch PVC pipe to the tee fitting. Apply primer and glue to each fitting. Hold for 30 seconds. Attach a clamp to each pipe, to hold it in place.
-
7
Repeat Step 6 and 7 until all tees and pipes have been installed. Use elbow fittings as needed.
-
8
Insert a misting head into each tee fitting. Apply primer and glue to both fittings. Hold for 30 seconds.
-
9
Connect the water hose to the threaded fitting on the PVC pipe located at the spigot. Wrap the threads of the fitting with Teflon tape to prevent any leaks.
-
10
Turn the water on and allow it to run for a few minutes to clean the system out. Turn the water off.
-
11
Attach a PVC cap to the last pipe. Apply primer and glue to each fitting. Wait for the glue to dry.
-
12
Turn the water on and check for any leaks in the system. Make adjustments as needed.
