How to Market Your Landing Capture Page
Your landing capture page, more popularly known as a squeeze page, is essential for online success. The typical squeeze page includes an attention grabbing headline, the offer of some sort of incentive for joining your mailing list, and a form the user fills out to "capture" their contact information. You can choose from hundreds of different methods to market your landing capture page. However, some produce instant results while others are used for long term lead flow. For example, mobile marketing and Facebook marketing will produce instant results, while article marketing works for long-term results.
Instructions
-
Article Marketing
-
1
Research keywords for your chosen topic. Use the Google Keyword Tool (see "Resources") to find the keywords that receive the most searches and have the lowest amount of competing pages. Choose the top three keyword phrases to use.
-
2
Write an article on your chosen topic. Focus on including various instances of your chosen keyword phrases in the title, keyword tags, and body of the article. Effective articles are between 300 and 500 words and include a "call to action" in the signature box or closing paragraph with a link to your landing capture page. A call to action is simply a statement that tells the reader to perform a specific action, in this case a click.
-
-
3
Create an account with the top ten article directories and five mini-site builders (see "Resources"). The top article directories and mini-site builders are seen as authority sites by the search engines. Authority sites have an easier time obtaining a spot on the first page of the search results and a first page ranking brings in traffic.
-
4
Create different versions of your article for each site you plan to submit to. This task may be accomplished with software (see "Resources") or by hand. The articles must be at least 30 percent different to qualify as "unique content" in the eyes of the search engines. Unique articles give you the chance of having various spots on the first page of the search results.
-
5
Submit the articles to the various directories and websites. As the articles are approved and mature, their rank may improve and you will begin to see some traffic. Repeat this process until you have hundreds of articles that link to your landing page and cover all of the keywords researched in the first step.
Facebook Marketing
-
6
Create a "Page" in Facebook. Enter your Facebook profile, or create one, and click on "Ads and Pages" located on the left side of the profile homepage.
-
7
Follow the onscreen prompts to create a fan page about your product or company. Include as much detail as possible, including photos and videos if available.
-
8
Invite people to become fans of the page. Focus on contacting people you know and asking them to become fans first. Then ask them to invite their friends to the page. Search for groups related to your chosen topic and invite each group member to join your fan page. This process may be automated with special software (see "Resources").
-
9
Send periodic updates to your fan page fans with links to your landing page. These updates should include enticing statements about the product or company that make the fans want to click on the link.
-
10
Repeat the process to continually increase the number of fans you page has. The higher the amount of fans, the more probability that some will click on your link and eventually sign up on your landing page.
Mobile Marketing
-
11
Write an attention grabbing headline that entices the reader to click. The headline must be 35 or less characters long.
-
12
Sign up for a free account at a mobile ad company (see "Resources").
-
13
Follow the onscreen instructions to create an ad campaign. The campaign creation process includes inserting a link to your landing page, posting the ad text created in the first step, choosing a picture to further entice the viewer, and selecting the targeting demographics you want to use. The optional demographic targeting allows you to target ad viewers by sex, age, phone type and geographic location.
-
14
Complete the ad campaign details and fund the account with the marketing budget you wish to use. The ad is displayed on the mobile phones of the target group you specified and they are sent to your landing page when they click on the ad.
