How to Make a Ben Kenobi Light Saber

The clear blue plastic in 3-D glasses are a critical part in building Kenobi's blue light saber.

Ben Kenobi, also known as Obiwan Kenobi, is a pinnacle hero in the Star Wars saga original trilogy. When crafting a Ben Kenobi costume, who portrayed an aged Jedi knight in the film, a light saber is a critical part of the ensemble. Ben Kenobi is clad in a plain brown, hooded robe and is armed only with his light saber. A light saber is a laser sword that a Jedi uses to duel or to deflect laser bullets. A light saber can be easily crafted with many items found in your own home.

Things You'll Need

• Flashlight
• Plastic tube
• Clear tape
• Tin foil
• 3-D glasses

Instructions

1. Cut the blue plastic out of the 3-D glasses.

2. Adhere the blue plastic to the top of the flashlight that omits the light.

3. Place the end of the clear tube (at least 24 inches long) over the top of the flashlight. Wind tape around the top of the flash light and at least 2 inches up the tube to secure in place on top of the flashlight. The handle of the flashlight is now the handle of the light saber.

4. Cut a piece of tin foil to cover the top of the tube. Tape in place to enclose the top of the light saber.

5. Turn on the flashlight to display the blue colored blade of Kenobi's light saber.
