How to Troubleshoot the Toner Supply on a Ricoh 2228 Copier
The Ricoh Aficio 2228C and 2238C is a professional copier, printer, scanner and fax machine that is well-suited for any busy office. The multipurpose machine is best-known for creating high-quality black-and-white documents, but it also has impressive color printing capabilities. Replace the appropriate colored toner if a "No toner: xxxx,xxxx" message appears on the Ricoh Aficio multipurpose machine's display. Open the top right cover of the machine, push the toner hook to the left with one hand, and pull the toner cartridge up and out to remove an empty toner cartridge from the machine. Replace the toner only when the "No toner" message appears. Do not shake the toner cartridge.

Shake a new toner cartridge from side to side several times before installing it in the Ricoh Aficio machine. Open the top right cover of the machine, slide the new toner cartridge into the toner slot, and let the toner hook snap onto metal contacts on the cartridge to replace a toner cartridge. Use only the approved types of toner in the machine. Don't touch the toner cartridge's metal contacts.

Remove the toner cartridge and then place it back into the multipurpose machine if the toner is stuck to the cartridge walls.

Keep replacement toner away from direct sunlight in a dry, air-conditioned room on a flat surface.
