Attach a water pressure gauge to a working faucet in your home. This type of device can be screwed onto any type of faucet and works well with fixtures for outdoor plumbing, such as your hose hookup.

Turn on the faucet and wait for a reading on the gauge. This can take a few seconds.

Look closely at the gauge. It will tell you the water pressure in your house. The water pressure is measured in psi and should be between 40 and 45.

Tips & Warnings
The water pressure in your home should not be greater than 60 psi. This is a potentially dangerous pressure.
