How to Hook Up Two TVs to a DirecTV HD Receiver

It is possible to view DirecTV programming on multiple televisions.

When watching television programming with DirecTV, each television must have its own receiver in order to view different programming. If you don't mind two televisions showing the same content, it is possible to connect two high-definition TVs to a single DirecTV HD receiver. This is especially helpful when running a bar or other commercial service.

Things You'll Need

• HDMI splitter box
• 3 HDMI cables
• 2 HDTVs

Instructions

1. Connect the coaxial cable running from the satellite dish into the "In" port on the DirecTV HD receiver.

2. Attach one of the three HDMI cables into the "HDMI Out" port on the DirecTV receiver. Plug the opposite end of the cable into the "HDMI In" port on the HDMI splitter box.

3. Connect the two HDMI cables into the two "HDMI Out" ports on the splitter box.

4. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into an "HDMI In" port on each of the two televisions.

5. Power on the DirecTV receiver, then turn on the televisions and select "Input" and choose "HDMI" as the input for the programming to load onto the screen.
