How to Make Free Printed Greeting Cards & Envelopes

Sending out a personalized card with a custom-designed envelope is just one way to show friends and family that you care. Greeting cards can be designed to suit many purposes. Birthday cards, get-well cards, holiday cards and more can be created and printed at home with minimal technical know-how. You can print your own cards using Microsoft Word, which comes pre-installed on all Windows computers.

Instructions

      Open Microsoft Word and create a new document.

      Click the "Mailings" tab and select "Envelopes."

      Click the "Envelopes" tab, then enter the delivery information into the "Delivery Address" box.

      Click "Print" to print the envelope, or click "Send to Document" to add it to the blank document, allowing you to add clip-art, photos, and other design touches. Make sure a blank envelope is loaded into your printer before you print.

    Greeting Cards

      Open Microsoft Word. Click the large, circular "Office" button in the top-left of the program, then click "New."

      Click "Cards" on the left-hand menu of the template screen and select a card theme. There are templates available for holiday cards, get-well cards, birthday cards, and more.

      Click "I Accept" to accept the Microsoft Office template terms, then click "Download." Your card will open in a new document.
