How to Upgrade Internet Explorer for 2000 Pro SP4

Navigate to the Microsoft Download Center for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1. (See Resources.)

Click the blue "Download" button on the Web page to begin the download of "ie6setup.exe".

Select "Run this program from its current location" to start the download and installation process. The installation is automatic in Windows 2000, so you won't need to interact.

Click the "Restart Now" button when prompted by the computer. This will reboot the computer, giving you the newest available release of Internet Explorer for Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
