How to Track Traffic on a 2Wire Modem

Monitor network activity on a 2Wire modem with third-party applications.

Modems and routers developed by 2Wire lack the functionality required for tracking and monitoring your network traffic. There are numerous third-party applications that can be employed to keep tabs on your Internet usage. These applications run in the background of Windows, allowing upload and download data to be tracked. Beyond simple traffic monitoring, these programs will detail network usage by running process so that you can pinpoint which programs are eating up the most bandwidth.

Instructions

1. Download and install the network traffic monitoring application of your choice.

2. Launch the network traffic monitoring application to begin tracking the Internet traffic on your 2Wire modem.

3. Double-click the networking traffic monitoring application tray icon to review the available tracking reports to determine bandwidth usage by application or by time frame.
