How to Open a Foohy Pencil Sharpener

Foohy sharpeners, like this one, collect pencil shavings in attached chambers.

Extremely popular with tweens, Foohy pencil sharpeners make pencil sharpening fun. The Lava pencil sharpener looks like a lava lamp when you turn it over. Two models of manual Foohy pencil sharpeners, the Lava and the Deluxe, have chambers that collect the shavings when you sharpen a pencil. To empty the shavings, you must open the sharpener. Opening the sharpener is easy, as long as you use the appropriate method for the model.

Instructions

Foohy Lava Pencil Sharpeners

1. Unscrew the top of the Foohy Fooz Lava pencil sharpener by turning it clockwise.

2. Remove the top from the base, carefully tipping the top so that the shavings do not spill out.

3. Dump the shavings in a wastebasket.

Foohy Deluxe Pencil Sharpener

1. Grasp the top of the pencil sharpener in your right hand. Hold the pencil sharpener over a wastebasket so that you don't accidentally spill shavings.

2. Tilt the top of the sharpener away from the bottom. The top will not completely detach from the bottom.

3. Empty the shavings into a wastebasket.
