Instructions

    • 1

Assess the frame and see how much glass, if any is left. Use the marker to mark any areas that have pieces or even shards of glass so that you know where any hazardous spots may be.

    • 2

Put on the gloves and goggles and look at the top of the frame. There should be screws on both ends and in the middle of the frame.

    • 3

Use your electric screwdriver and unscrew the screws along the top of the frame. In some cases there may be more than three along the top. If that is the case with your frame, remove those as well.

    • 4

Remove all the screws on the sides and along the bottom of the frame. Keep your safety gear on until you finish this entire project.

    • 5

Use the hacksaw to cut into the vertical center post that is holding the frame upright. If you can slide the remaining pieces out, do so. Otherwise use the hacksaw to cut them into small enough pieces to just pull out.

    • 6

Take any pieces of reaming aluminum to a scrap dealer and sell them to him for whatever the going rate is.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not remove the existing frame until you are ready to install the new one.
