How to Set the Ring Tones for Messages on the A737

The Samsung SGH-A737 allows you to set custom ring tones for incoming calls. In addition, you can select a custom ring tone for incoming text messages. You do not have to have the same ring tone for incoming calls and incoming text messages. You can choose from a variety of effect-type ring tones or musical ring tones.

Instructions

1. Open the screen of the SGH-A737. Push the left soft key to open the menu. Select "Settings."

2. Select "Set Profiles." Scroll down to and select "Normal," unless you are using a different profile, such as "Outdoors" or "Airplane." If you are using another profile, select the profile from the list.

3. Select "Call," and then select "Message Alert." Select "Change."

4. Select "Effect Tone" or "My Alert Tone," depending on the kind of ring tone you want to set.

5. Scroll down to and select the message ring tone you want to use. Push the left soft key and choose "Select." This tone is now set as your text-messaging ring tone.
