How to Make a Bamboo Blanket

You can knit bamboo yarn into a warm and cozy bamboo blanket.

Bamboo yarn is an eco-friendly alternative to wool or acrylic yarn. Bamboo yarn is a good choice for a baby blanket, providing a soft, washable and allergy-free fabric. This blanket requires the basic knowledge of how to knit, but features an uncomplicated pattern well suited for a knitting novice. By using a double strand of bamboo yarn and large needles, the blanket will be knitted up for a baby shower gift in no time.

Things You'll Need

• 6 skeins worsted weight bamboo yarn
• Bamboo knitting needles, size 11
• Tapestry needle

Instructions

1. Hold two strands of yarn together and cast on 100 stitches.

2. Knit each row, holding two strands of yarn together throughout, until the blanket measures 3 feet long.

3. Cast off the final row. Cut the double strand of yarn and knot it. Thread the tails in the tapestry needle and weave the ends through the rows of knitting.
