How to Set Privileges for America Online Screen Names

The master screen name controls all the other screen names in an AOL account. When you're logged in as the master, however, you can give additional screen names "master" access.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • Computers
  • America Online
  • Internet Explorer
  • Internet Explorer
  1. Step 1

    Sign on to AOL.

  2. Step 2

    Click on My AOL in the top toolbar.

  3. Step 3

    Click on Screen Names.

  4. Step 4

    Click on Edit Parental Controls Settings.

  5. Step 5

    Choose the name you want to give privileges to from the Edit Controls For box.

  6. Step 6

    Click on Additional Master.

  7. Step 7

    Check the box next to "Designate this screen name as a master screen name."

  8. Step 8

    Click Save.

  9. Step 9

    Click OK.

Tips & Warnings
  • This will give the user full control of AOL privileges.
  • The new master can check the account billing, change the parental controls of the other screen names, go anywhere on the Web, and get and send e-mail.
  • You are allowed to create only three master screen names.

on 3/18/2007 This is NO HELP WHATSOEVER if i'm using the AOL.com website - i can log in but can't get to screennames!
