1
Call the phone number you're trying to send a message to. If you have the wrong phone number, adjust your address book with the correct number, then proceed with the SMS message.
-
2
Check your reception bars. If you have little or no reception -- even if you're roaming -- sending messages may not be possible. Wait until you have better reception and resend the message.
-
-
3
Check your battery. Your BlackBerry phone's radio will turn off automatically when you have very low battery life. This will prevent you from making phone calls and sending SMS messages until it has been charged.
-
4
Ensure your network isn't busy. During high network-traffic days -- like Christmas Day and midnight of New Year's Eve -- you may have difficulty making phone calls and sending messages. If this is the case, try to send your message a little bit later.
-
5
Reset your phone. Your phone, like a computer, can freeze up causing messages to not send properly. If this is the case, remove the battery from the back of your phone for 10 seconds. Replace the battery, and turn your phone back on to reset it.
-
6
Send your message using the General Packet Radio Service network, rather than your service provider's Global System for Mobile Communications network. Click "Options" from your phone's home screen. Select "SMS," then "Network To Send Over." Open the BlackBerry menu and click "Change Option." Click or type "GPRS" in the value field on the screen. Press the "Back Arrow" button and click "Save." Resend the message. If this still doesn't work, contact your service provider.
