How to Make a PSI Wheel Spin

How to Make a PSI Wheel Spin thumbnail
You can make a PSI wheel out of any sort of paper.

A PSI wheel is a paper construction typically used as a tool for practicing telekinesis, and you can make it spin by balancing it on a point and blowing. The PSI wheel is folded almost as if it were made from origami, the Japanese art of folded paper. You can make a PSI wheel using any sort of sturdy paper, and crafting one yourself will save costs over purchasing one from a new age store, where similar items can sometimes be expensive.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a piece of paper in a perfect square, to about 3-by-3 inches.

    • 2

Fold the square over diagonally to form a triangle and press down to make a crease.

    • 3

Unfold the triangle and re-fold it using opposite corners to make another triangle, with a diagonal crease that crosses through the first crease made.

    • 4

Unfold the triangle again so you now have a cross of two creases cutting through the square.

    • 5

Turn the paper over and fold it in half down the center horizontally. Unfold it and re-fold down the center vertically. Unfold again.

    • 6

Push against the four corners so that the horizontal and vertical creases begin to fold in and the diagonal creases are pushed up, making a sort of four pointed star shape.

    • 7

Place the PSI wheel on the tip of a pencil and gently blow on it to spin.
