How to Use Napster on a Cell Phone

Download some of your favorite guitar songs using Napster mobile apps.

Napster is a music streaming and distribution program owned by Best Buy. It specializes in selling a subscription service to download and stream music to computers and mobile devices. Napster allows smartphone users to access the service on their mobile devices, though it is available only on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android and Blackberry devices, as of December 2010.

• Blackberry, iPhone or Android smartphone
• Email Address

Instructions

1. Open the browser on your cellphone and navigate to Napster's mobile cell phone detection website (see Resources). Napster will detect the kind of cell phone you have and provide a download link for the application. You also can find the application in the iPhone App Store, Blackberry App World or Android Market.

2. Tap or select the download link. Your cell phone will download and install the application. Navigate to the "Napster" icon and select it. The program will now open.

3. Log in to your Napster account. If you currently have a Napster account you can simply enter your pre-existing user name and password. If you are new to Napster, select the "Create New Account" button. Enter the information Napster requires you to provide. Pick a service plan (see Resources). The setup will send you a conformation email. Navigate to your email account and click the confirmation link. Your Napster account is now set up. Log into the program on your cell phone by entering your user name and password. You now can use Napster on your cell phone.
