Gift cards for gas stations are a popular gift, especially as the price of gas continues to climb. It is satisfying to fill your vehicle with gas, knowing you've got a gas card ready to redeem. Gas cards are available at many brands of gas station and are sold in a variety of amounts.

Determine the value of your gas card. The amount typically is listed on its front side.

Visit a branch of the gas station represented on the gas card and fill your vehicle with fuel as you normally would.

Hand the gas card to the station attendant and inform him you'll be paying with this card. If the amount listed on the card is greater than the amount of gas you purchased, the card will be debited and returned to you for future use. If you pumped more gas than the card is worth, you will have to pay the difference with another method of payment.

Tips & Warnings
If the station you visit allows payment at the pump, your gas card can be swiped at the pump.
Always treat a gas card as cash. When it is lost or stolen, it cannot be replaced.
