How to Oil a Gun Barrel
Oiling a gun barrel is part of the process associated with the proper cleaning of a firearm. The cleaning process involves unloading a gun and then applying a cleaning solvent with the use of a cleaning rod, bore brush and patches. Once all powder residue is removed and the barrel is clean, a thin coat of oil should be applied to repel water and help prevent the formation of potentially damaging rust.
