How to Assemble a Ladder Rack
Work trucks feature large beds for hauling materials, and sturdy metal racks which can support additional loads. Attaching a ladder rack to the rack on your truck enables you to firmly secure your ladder to the truck when driving. Driving with a ladder on the rack which is not properly secured in a ladder rack will leave you susceptible to the ladder slipping and falling off, potentially damaging the ladder as well as creating a hazard for any cars following you.

1
Insert the ladder rack extension rails, the smaller rails in the kit, into the larger body rails, then secure with the provided bolts so that the rack is the desired length for your ladders.
-
2
Slide the T-bolts into the slots in the ladder racks. The slot on each rail that accommodates the bolts with one threaded prong will face down and secure the rail to the car's rack, while the slot that accommodates bolts with two threaded prongs will face in and secure the ladders.

3
Place end caps on the open end of the body section rails.
-
4
Slide the single-prong T-bolts so that they align over the holes in the truck's rack, and insert the prongs through the holes.
-
5
Slide the ladder rack forward or back into your desired position, then fasten the T-bolts in place with a washer and nut using the socket wrench.
-
6
Place end caps in the open end of the extension rails.
