How to Print a Large World Map in Sections
Printing a large world map in sections is challenging, and, most of all, requires patience to achieve a good result. When each section of the world map has been scanned and saved, there are many ways to make use of them. Framed individual sections can be given as personal presents to friends and loved ones as a reminder of a nice vacation. Sections can also be framed and placed on a wall.

1
Fold your world map into sections small enough to be placed in a scanner. Number the sections of your map in sequential order by writing on the back of each section in the order they are to be scanned.
-
2
Place the first section of your map in the scanner. Make sure that the map is as flat as is possible. If it isn't, the sections of the map near the edges will not scan correctly.

Use a graphics software program to open your scanner. Run a preview scan to check that the map's brightness and contrast are correct. If they are not, make the necessary adjustments and run another preview scan. When you are satisfied with your preview scan, scan the first map section. Save the file as a JPEG with the filename "Section." Repeat this process for the remaining map sections. Save files as "Section 2," "Section 3" and so on.

4
Print each section of the world map on a separate sheet of paper. Write the sequential number on the back of each sheet after each section has been printed. Collate all the sections of the map together.
