Instructions

    • 1

Dig out the area you want for your walkway. Dig it out deep enough so you can install a couple of inches of gravel for the base, plus the thickness of the pavers. Use a laser level to ensure the area you dug out is level.

    • 2

Lay landscaping cloth over the entire walkway area. This will help prevent weeds and grass from growing up between the pavers.

    • 3

Pour the gravel into the area and distribute it evenly, using the laser level to ensure it is level. Compact the gravel down, again checking the level.

    • 4

Place edging stones along the edge of the walkway, or use wooden boards as forms to hold the pavers in place. Lay the pavers in the pattern you desire, again checking the level with the laser level. Compact them down so they are secure and stable.

    • 5

Sweep sand in between the pavers and mist the area lightly with water. Let dry. Repeat this process several times until the sand is level with the pavers. This is a further way to increase the stability of the path and to prevent weeds and plants from growing between the stones.
